Excess Telecom

Excess Telecom Platform

By Nans

This project was designed with the aim of establishing a platform for Excess Telecom that facilitates top-ups for phone services. Not only did we craft a landing page that attracted new clients using referral codes, but we also rewarded our loyal customers with exclusive codes. The platform was meticulously developed for both desktop and mobile users. Throughout the project, we initiated the creation from the ground up, which included developing personas, undergoing the UX process, sketching out wireframes, and establishing a comprehensive design system.

MY ROLL

Starting from scratch.

As the Lead UI/UX Designer for the Excess Telecom project, one of my primary responsibilities was to craft a cohesive brand identity. I was also tasked with designing a landing page that not only showcased our range of services but also ensured our customers could effortlessly navigate and engage with us. The objective was to create a seamless interface where clients could quickly identify potential products and reach out for collaborations or assistance.

My tasks in this project:

  • Research and analyze current market trends to ensure the brand resonates with our target audience.

  • Develop and refine user personas to guide the design process.

  • Sketch initial wireframes for the platform and landing page to outline the user journey.

  • Create a design system that ensures consistency across all visual elements.

  • Prototype the landing page for desktop and mobile, ensuring responsive design.

  • Conduct usability tests to gather feedback and refine the user experience.

  • Collaborate with the development team to ensure designs are implemented accurately and effectively.

  • Monitor user engagement and analytics post-launch to suggest and implement iterative improvements.

Additional Tasks related to Managing Meetings with Developers and Clients:

  • Schedule and lead kickoff meetings with the development team to ensure alignment on project goals, timelines, and deliverables.

  • Organize regular check-in meetings with developers to review progress, address concerns, and ensure adherence to design specifications.

  • Facilitate brainstorming sessions with the design and development teams to encourage creative problem-solving and foster collaboration.

  • Conduct client presentations at key project milestones, ensuring they are informed and onboard with design decisions.

  • Gather feedback from clients in dedicated review sessions, ensuring their requirements and concerns are addressed in the design iterations.

  • Coordinate with the project management team to set clear agendas for all meetings, ensuring efficient use of time and focused discussions.

  • Document meeting outcomes, action items, and decisions made to maintain transparency and ensure follow-through on tasks.

  • User Personas: Develop and refine user personas in Figma to inform and guide the design process.

  • Wireframing: Draft preliminary wireframes for the platform and landing page in Figma to map out the user journey.

  • Design System Creation: Establish a cohesive design system in Figma, ensuring visual consistency across all interfaces.

  • Prototyping: Develop interactive prototypes of the landing page for desktop and mobile in Figma to simulate the user experience.

  • Usability Testing: Gather user feedback to optimize the user experience, using tools like Zoom for remote testing sessions.

  • Design Collaboration: Collaborate with the development team via Slack and Zoom meetings, ensuring designs are translated accurately into functional interfaces.

  • Graphics and Animations: Utilize Illustrator for vector designs, After Effects for motion graphics, and Photoshop for image editing to enhance the platform's aesthetics.

  • Meeting Management: Use Zoom for virtual meetings with both the development team and clients to maintain effective communication.

  • Feedback and Iterations: Collect and implement feedback from clients, hosting review sessions over Zoom and tracking changes in Google Drive.

  • Documentation: Record meeting outcomes, design decisions, and action items in Google Drive to maintain transparency and ensure task follow-through.

This is not the final product. This web page is still in development, the design is already done, but for the page to be public and finally done, the company needs to take the picture of every single employee and for now, thats what is missing.

Excess Telecom project was a testament to the synergy between innovative design and robust functionality. As the Lead UI/UX Designer, I had the privilege of guiding the project's visual and user experience direction, leveraging state-of-the-art tools like Figma, Sketch, and Adobe Suite. Our collaboration tools, including Slack and Zoom, further bolstered our team's efficiency, enabling us to respond promptly to client feedback and implement changes in real-time. As we reflect on this endeavor, it's evident that our commitment to excellence and our choice of cutting-edge tools were pivotal in delivering a platform that not only meets but exceeds client expectations.
